Requirements
- A Four-Year Degree (Bachelor’s or Global Equivalent):
- At least 36 months of project management experience
- 35 hours of formal project management education/training or a CAPM® certification
- OR, a High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Global Equivalent:
- At least 60 months of project management experience leading projects
- 35 hours of formal project management education/training or a CAPM® certification
- Start creating a PMI account on the PMI official website.
- After registration for the PMP certification course, you'll receive a confirmation email to verify your account.
- Fill out the project management professional certification application form, which consists of three sections: general information, project management experience, and 35 contact hours of PMP training. You have 90 days to complete the application, and you can save your progress and return to it later.
- Once submitted, your application will be reviewed, which may take 5-10 business days.
- Upon approval, you'll receive an email from PMI, and then you can pay the exam fee, which is $425 for PMI members and $675 for non-members.
- You may be randomly selected for a PMI audit as part of the application process.
- Be patient, as the application review process can take time. Ensure you submit all required supporting documents for PMI approval.
- After your application is approved, PMI will provide an eligibility ID, which you'll use to schedule your PMP exam. You'll have three attempts to pass the exam within a year of receiving your eligibility ID.
You don't require any specific software tools to prepare for the PMP exam.
